History

When the village of Headingley voted overwhelmingly to secede from the City of Winnipeg in 1993, a monthly newsletter was started by volunteers to inform the community of community club events and political notices. And so was born the Headingley Headliner. It existed in this form for 4 years until April of 1996 when we began to publish a tabloid newspaper twice a month. In October of 1996 we began publishing every week and truly became Manitoba's newest community newspaper.
