Arson suspect too young to charge
Police handed an 11-year-old serial arson suspect over to the crisis stabilization unit because he is too young to charge.
On Nov. 7, officers with the arson task force picked up the boy in connection with three separate fires, Sgt. Kelly Dennison said.
On Oct. 16, a fire in a garage in the 1000 block of Selkirk Avenue caused $40,000 damage.
Later that evening, a garage was lit on fire in the 1000 block of Pritchard Avenue, causing $1,000 damage.
On Nov. 3, a multi-unit dwelling in the first 100 block of Euclid Avenue was lit on fire, forcing all residents to evacuate their homes.
This fire caused $50,000 damage.
Police say the child has been cautioned multiple times in regard to arson to property.
