Girl, 17, charged in school threat
Winnipeg police have charged a 17-year-old girl after someone left a threatening message on a washroom wall at Kildonan East Collegiate.
The message was discovered by a student on Nov. 2 in a girls washroom, said police spokeswoman Const. Jacqueline Chaput.
The subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of a 17-year-old female student later that day, she said.
The youth is facing charges of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and mischief under $5,000. She was released on a promise to appear in court.
Police take these types of threats seriously and anyone found to responsible will be charged accordingly, Chaput said.
