Man charged with nine break-ins
A string of robberies that preyed primarily on seniors and robbed trusting people has led to an arrest on charges relating to at least nine break-ins dating back to June, 2004.
Police say they were investigating complaints that a man was preying on seniors – offering to do small, odd jobs around the home and then robbing the victim afterwards.
In one case, according to police, the thief locked an elderly woman in a room and swiped valuables from her home.
In other cases, police say, the man came back and stole from homes and garages when the homeowner wasn’t there.
Conrad Colin Chartrand, 32, has been charged with five counts of theft, one count of robbery with violence and three counts of break and enter.
A police spokesperson said an investigation is currently underway into other, similar incidents.
